| Kyla LeeAnne Miller Memorial
Scholarship Program |
On May 21, 2009, Kyla Miller Foundation
co-founders Randy and Stephanie Miller awarded the 2009 Kyla
LeeAnne Miller Memorial Scholarship to Bethany Wallen of
Lake Meade, East Berlin, PA. Wallen is the second
recipient of this $1,500.00 scholarship in memory of Kyla
Miller. She will graduate from Bermudian Springs High
School on June 3, 2009 and attend Millersville University beginning in August as
an Elementary Education student. At the conclusion of the
award ceremony at Bermudian Springs High School, the Millers
caught up with the Wallen family to congratulate Bethany
once again. To their surprise, the Millers found out
there was a connection between them and Miss Wallen.
In December 2006, the Millers held a Celebration of Life for
Kyla while the cancer-stricken child could enjoy the party.
Wallen attended that party at the Valencia Ballroom in York,
PA, as a representative of Bermudian Springs High School
Student Council. Wallen and two other students
presented the Millers with a monetary donation from Student
Council to help their family and treat Kyla to some special
times in the coming months. Wallen
even got to experience one of Kyla's super squeezy hugs.
The Millers were thrilled with their selection of Wallen
as the recipient of the 2009 Kyla LeeAnne Miller Memorial
Scholarship. Congratulations,
Bethany!
