One of the most difficult emotional experiences you will
endure during this journey is watching your child battle
cancer and knowing that you cannot battle it for him or
her. You will have feelings of total helplessness
while trying to show your child that you are strong.
While KMF does not discriminate against any type of
religion, Kyla's family feels strong in that you cannot
fight this battle along side of your child without some
type of faith-based belief system. Whether you are
Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist... you will often
times find your greatest sources of comfort and strength
in your religion.
Christians can go to
The Holy Bible for a gateway of various translations
of the Old and New Testaments.
The
Tanakh can be found at Jewish Virtual Library.
The
Qur'an can be found in many translations.
Information about
Buddhism can be found at Internet Sacred Text
Archive.
For parents looking for alternative sources of
support, try creating a web blog. There are two
blog service providers that make it very easy to create
a page, and your updates will be e-mailed to anyone that
has access to your page.
CarePages and
CaringBridge are two sites that have huge followings
of readers and prayer warriors. To see a sample
CarePage, check out the Miller family's carepage they
used for Kyla:
www.carepages.com/carepages/kylamiller.
Hospitals also have non-denominational chapel
services, and professional counseling services are also
beneficial. And don't forget about
Support
Resources on our Links & Resources pages.
